The Origin of British Shorthairs
The first British shorthairs were first shown in England in 1898. British Shorthairs mainly were used to keep rodents out of barns or houses. All British shorthairs in North America came from England.
Description of British Shorthairs
British Shorthairs are cobby, have a very powerful medium or large body, are well balanced, they have a thick neck and a large head. They have big cheeks, a medium broadnose, and big wide-set eyes. They have a short, firm, and dense, and without woolliness coat. This makes the coat easier to groom.
British shorthairs come in many different colors, but the most popular and well-known color is the classic solid blue color. Their eye color depends on their coat, British shorthairs with a blue fur coat have orange or copper eye color.
British shorthairs are very friendly and intelligent. They are very talkative and might not be your typical “lap cat”, but they like to sit or lie down next to their owner. British Shorthairs are okay with children, dogs, and other cats.

About our Cattery
Our cattery is located in Toronto, ON, Canada. We breed exclusively blue British shorthairs. Our cattery is registered with the Canadian Cat Association and all our cats are purebred British shorthair cats, registered with CCA. Pedigrees are available upon request.
We are very proud that our cats won numerous titles and awards in the CCA shows, which you can see in the Show Title and Awards section. Our cat Amour is the top British Shorthair in Canada, featured on the CCA website as National Winner of the Breed, and under the Breed Standards section. This title means our cats meet the established breed standards and are true to the breed standards.
All of our kittens will come with CCA registration, first immunizations, and health certificates. We focus on quality, not on quantity. We also focus on the health of our cats, we provide balanced nutrition, immunization and regular vet checks. We raise our cats in a family environment which means our cats are socialized and raised in a home environment with children. We also offer 30-day free insurance with our kittens.
